Artist's Statement: "This new work is a response to the everyday rhythms of life and the patterns that exist within it. Captivating this with resist dyeing techniques, and overlaying numerous colours, these works were created by dyeing various silk fabrics, fibres, and merino wool, using just two dye pots. Some works were then felted and stitched." Colleen is employed by Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology as Arts & Media Technician along with tutoring specialist Textile Techniques. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and has won several awards including the Changing Threads Nelson City Council Spirit of Nelson Award in 2009.
